nik Sharpener Pro! The nik Sharpener Pro! image turned out pretty awful, especially considering the $329.95 price tag. It did a decent job sharpening, with no obvious haloing, except around the nostrils. It didn't make the image that much sharper, though. I used the "John" setting as it's the medium setting - with "Anna" being too subtle, and "Zap" being WAY too strong. The biggest issue I have is that it sharpened facial details that should have stayed soft. Here's how I made this scan: 1. I resized the scan to make it approximately a 4" x 6" at 240dpi.
This is necessary in nik Sharpener because if you don't you'll end up with an awful image. 2.. I went to Filter>nik SharpenerPro>Internet Autoscan:
I chose the Inkjet, Small format slide (as the image is 1600dpi), above average image and printer quality, book eye distance, and "John", the medium of the three settings. Conclusion: nik Sharpener Pro!
really surprised me. To be fair, I have tried it on other images and it
seemed to work fairly well, but the human face was just too sensitive,
and it came out poorly. Not worth the money at all in my opinion, but
